  • Studied at the Universities of Gießen and Mainz
  • Law clerkships in Koblenz and Munich (BMG Music Publishing Germany)
  • Admitted to the bar in 2003
  • 2008: Certified specialist for information technology law
  • Partner of Res Media | Kanzlei für IT- und Medienrecht, Mainz (2009 – 2013)
  • 2012 : Certified specialist for IP law
  • 2013:Partner of TCI Rechtsanwälte Mainz

Publications and lectures

Christian Welkenbach regularly publishes legal papers and articles, including contributions to legal blogs (e.g. www.blog-markenrecht.de), particularly in the fields of IT law, online law and trademark law. Furthermore, he is a regular contributor to Internet World BUSINESS (www.internetworld.de) and to the online magazine INTERNETHANDEL (www.internethandel.de). In addition, Christian Welkenbach regularly writes on legal issues relating to IT security in the journal (www.kes.info). On July 31, 2012 a guideline for processing and reviewing for "Social Media in Banks and Savings Associations" was published, which was co-authored by Christian Welkenbach and in which he discussed the legal parameters and risks for banks relating to social media (s. goo.gl/BFvxg).
