- 1992: admitted to the bar
- 1993: visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, USA
- 1993: research scholarship German Marshall Fund of the United States
- 1995: doctoral degree (Dr. iur.) Humboldt University, Berlin; Prof. Dr. Christoph G. Paulus, LL.M. Doctoral thesis on comparative law (Discovery in Software Infringement Litigation)
